I’m imagining man desperately suckling on a teat of a large milk cow as I take a sip of milk from the pint. How seemingly depraved an act, the drinking of another animal’s milk. I see a human growing a funky, fuzzy plant that seems to come from an alien planet, and then smoking it in a glass pipe to alter their mind. We view these things in our culture as normal and legal: milk drinking and marijuana smoking. We harvest large amounts of crops that have been bioengineered to produce the most fruitful products and we drive big metal machines and hide away in our concrete and brick-constructed houses. I am disgusted with our brokenness. Just as easily as it is to see the goodness of God so too can we see the wretchedness of mankind.
